Jennifer Lopez took to Instagram on December 2 to release a powerful statement about her upcoming film Unstoppable, just days after news of her ex-husband Ben Affleck’s reunion with his former wife Jennifer Garner surfaced over Thanksgiving.
Lopez shared a heartfelt message alongside a series of photos from her recent Entertainment Weekly cover shoot, which also featured her co-stars Jharrel Jerome, Bobby Cannavale, and Anthony Robles. She spoke about her inspiration for the film, which tells the story of wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg and went on to win the NCAA National Championship in 2011.
“When I first learned about the true story behind Unstoppable, I was moved beyond words. It’s a testament to resilience, grit, and the human spirit,” Lopez wrote in the post. “This film is a celebration of the fighters and the dreamers who refuse to give up, no matter the odds.”
Lopez expressed her deep gratitude for being able to play the role of Judy Robles, the mother of Anthony Robles, in the inspiring sports drama. “It was an honor for me to play Judy Robles in this incredible story about her son Anthony Robles. Both Anthony and Judy are real examples and define what it means to be UNSTOPPABLE,” she added.
Lopez’s post, however, came just after reports that her now-estranged husband Ben Affleck, and his ex-wife Jennifer Garner had spent the Thanksgiving holiday together. Lopez and Affleck, who had reunited in 2021 after a long period of separation, officially parted ways in August 2024 and are currently in the process of settling their legal matters.
While Lopez focuses on her career and promoting Unstoppable, her post about resilience and strength seems to reflect her own journey, as she continues to navigate both her personal and professional life following her split from Affleck.
