Jennifer Garner reportedly gave rare advice to her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, urging him to work on his marriage with Jennifer Lopez before their separation. According to an insider, the 52-year-old actress had been very supportive of their relationship, even offering guidance as their marriage hit a rough patch.
“When things started getting rocky between Ben and Jennifer [Lopez], Jen was very supportive of their relationship and encouraged Ben to work on their marriage,” the confidant told Page Six.
The source also revealed that Garner had become friendly with Lopez during the couple’s marriage, communicating regularly with the pop star. However, recent reports indicate that Garner has not been in touch with Lopez in the wake of their split.
While Garner and Lopez may not be in contact at present, the insider emphasized that the actress has “no problem” with J.Lo. “At the end of the day, she just wants Ben to be happy,” the source added. The revelation about Garner’s support comes after Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck in August, just two years after the couple rekindled their relationship.
In an earlier statement, Garner had also shared her thoughts on relationships, advising women never to marry a man “thinking you can change him.” Garner and Affleck, who share three children, divorced in 2018 after a decade of marriage.
Though Garner and Affleck have remained amicable co-parents, their advice to each other is reportedly focused on ensuring their individual happiness.
