Jax Taylor Makes Surprising Legal Claims About Marriage to Brittany Cartwright Amid Divorce
Jax Taylor has raised eyebrows with new legal claims regarding his marriage to Brittany Cartwright. In his response to Brittany’s divorce filing, obtained by E! News on October 2, the Vanderpump Rules alum acknowledged his marriage to Brittany, with whom he shares a 3-year-old son, Cruz.
However, Taylor also made a startling claim by checking a box stating, “Respondent contends that the parties never legally married or registered in a domestic partnership.” In the “Statistical Facts” section of his filing, Taylor noted that the couple got married on June 29, 2019, and listed their separation date as September 26, 2024, which coincided with the day he submitted his response.
However, an apparent error in the filing drew attention—when asked for the time between their marriage and separation, Taylor incorrectly noted it as four years and six months, instead of the correct five years and two months. Brittany, in her divorce documents, also listed January 24, 2024, as the date of their split, further highlighting discrepancies between their filings.
One intriguing point in their divorce filings is their differing stances on spousal support. Brittany requested the court to terminate the right to spousal support for both herself and Jax. On the other hand, Taylor checked the option for a “future determination” of spousal support, leaving the matter unresolved in his filing.
The unexpected claims in Taylor’s filing and the disagreement over spousal support have added a layer of complexity to what seemed like a straightforward separation for the reality TV couple.
