Gypsy Rose Blanchard Reveals Surprising Plan to Share Her Untold Life Story with Future Daughter!
Gypsy-Rose Blanchard is ready to share her life story with her future daughter, describing herself as “an open book.” In a candid conversation on The Viall Files podcast with host Nick Viall, the soon-to-be mother opened up about her plans to reveal her complex and tumultuous past to her child.
Blanchard, who spent eight years in prison for her involvement in the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, discussed how she intends to approach this difficult conversation when the time comes. “That conversation is going to come up someday, and how do I want to address that, how do I want to handle that?” Blanchard said. “And I feel like when she is of the right age to understand, we are going to sit her down together.”
Blanchard, who was a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy—where her mother faked illnesses and disabilities to control her—believes that sharing her story will help her daughter understand the truth. The experience of wanting to be transparent with her child also inspired Blanchard to write her memoir, My Time to Stand: A Memoir, People.
“Because she could read it for herself and see that I’m not this monster, I’m not the person that they say on social media. I’m not any of those things,” she emphasized, addressing how she has been portrayed by the media and online.
Blanchard expressed her openness to allowing her daughter to explore her story from multiple perspectives. “I fully encourage looking at someone’s life in the truest form, so I’m in support of the documentary. If she wants to watch my documentary, I’ll let her when she’s old enough,” Blanchard explained.
“And reading my book. And talking to us. I’m an open book, he’s an open book. Any questions that she has, we want her to feel comfortable to ask us,” she added, emphasizing the importance of honesty and openness in her family.
At 33 years old, Blanchard is preparing to navigate motherhood while grappling with her past, aiming to ensure her daughter understands her story in its entirety when the time is right.
