Thandie Newton Shares her Joy as she and Husband Ol Parker Welcome son Booker Jombe
Thandie Newton has given birth to a baby boy. The 41-year-old actress and husband Ol Parker welcomed little Booker Jombe – a sibling for their daughters Ripley, 13, and Nico, nine – into the world on Monday, she announced on Twitter. She wrote: ‘Our baby boy is finally here! Booker Jombe Parker. Born joyously at home yesterday.’ Thandie Newton later tweeted that she had given birth at home, writing: ‘My 3rd home birth with brilliant independent midwife Caroline Flint – and Carole Goddard.
Keep independent midwifery alive!’The Crash actress announced her pregnancy in September and later admitted she was finding it tough working on action-packed police drama Rogue, in which she plays undercover cop Grace Travis. She said: ‘Basically, I had two options; to withdraw from the show which would have meant the show collapsing, or to commit regardless. ‘I’d seem actresses takes on meaty un-pregnant roles while carrying babies – Jodie Foster in Panic Room.
My agent also reassured me that both Claire Danes and Anna Paquin worked well into their first pregnancies. So – it was all going to work out just fine wasn’t it? ‘We’re on episode nine, and are near enough to finishing for me to be able to chuckle at my naivety in thinking this was going to be anything other than mayhem, with a waddling lead actress at the centre.’
Her husband – who she married in 1998 – also took to Twitter to say: ‘We had a baby, that’s a beautiful thing. He’s called Booker, and while he doesn’t do much yet, I suspect him to be awesome. Many thanks for all the new baby wishes I haven’t replied to personally. For taking the time, and sending the love; both much appreciated.’
Thandie Newton was last spotted out and about in January, when she was photographed enjoying a stroll through London in a monochrome print jumper bearing the name of BRIXTON, which clung to her growing baby bump. She also tweeted that her maternity pencil skirt, by Seraphine, was a wardrobe staple, writing: ‘These days I’d be in wardrobe Hades without my @SeraphineLtd pencil skirt. A must for expecting Mama’s!’ Dailymail
