Paul Hollywood with Alexandra Friendly Tweets Birthday Meal
Paul Hollywood is back on good terms with his estranged wife after they exchanged friendly Twitter messages following a family meal.
Despite splitting in May after 15 years of marriage after Paul was romantically linked to his US co-star, it appears the exes are trying to rebuild a friendship for the sake of their son.
The couple shared on the micro-blogging site that they had spent Monday evening out for a Thai meal with their son Josh to mark his 12th birthday.
The meal together and friendly banter suggests the exes have been able to move past any animosity following their sudden split in May.
On Monday night, Alexandra, 49, tweeted: ‘Out to dinner for Birthday Eve celebration dinner for Josh #lovegoingoutfordinner.’
She later posted a photo of her main meal: ‘Thx for all your tweets.. We had a lovely family meal out… Tom yum – yummy!’
On Tuesday morning, the Liverpudlian TV star, 47, tweeted: ‘Nice birthday eve dinner for Josh last night with the family …. #cantbelievehes12.
And a huge Happy Birthday Josh x @Hollywood_wife.’
After tagging his ex’s Twitter handle, she replied: ‘:-).’
The couple parted ways in May soon after he returned from filming the American Baking Compeitiont with his young American-Mexican co-host Marcela Valladolid.
It is thought Paul and Marcela, 34, enjoyed a fling, even being photographed on holiday together in Marjoca in August, but they have now split.
Alexandra has since said she is divorcing Paul on the grounds of adultery, which he has not contested.
Speaking about her difficult 2013 in an interview with the Mail last month, she said: ‘What happened to me does not define me. That’s not me. What defines me is cooking for family and friends and my son Joshy.
‘I cannot just sit in a soggy heap. I have to do something. This is about me now. I have to be a happy, strong, confident person for my son.’
Meanwhile, her husband Paul took the blame for their marriage failure in an interview with the Daily Mirror earlier this year: ‘It’s my fault. I am very sad about what has happened.’I do feel very sad about it and what it brought on the family.’
