Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is gearing up for his upcoming trial by adding some serious legal firepower to his defense. Renowned Atlanta-based attorney Brian Steel, best known for representing rapper Young Thug, has officially joined Diddy’s legal team as the music mogul prepares to face sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
Steel filed paperwork with the United States District Court on Tuesday, April 15, confirming his position as part of the defense team ahead of the trial, which is scheduled to begin on May 5.

In a court filing obtained by DailyMail, Steel introduced himself formally, stating: “I am a member in good standing of the Bar of the State of Georgia, and there are no pending disciplinary proceedings against me in any state or federal court. I have never been convicted of a felony.”
He also clarified any prior legal history, saying, “I have never been disbarred or denied admission or readmission by any court. I have been administratively suspended (then reinstated) and censured (but then vindicated) by courts, and provide the facts and circumstances surrounding those instances in the attached affidavit pursuant to Local Rule 1.3.”

Diddy, who was arrested in September 2024 on serious charges including sex trafficking and racketeering, is set to go to trial in just a few weeks. With public scrutiny intensifying and the stakes incredibly high, the addition of Steel, a seasoned defense attorney with a reputation for handling complex and high-profile cases, could signal a new phase in Combs’ legal strategy.
The charges have already generated significant media attention, and now with Steel in the picture, the courtroom battle is expected to draw even more public and legal interest. Known for his aggressive courtroom style and experience in defending prominent figures in the entertainment industry, Steel’s involvement adds weight to a case that’s already making headlines nationwide.
