“He Gets Access to a Laptop to Review Discovery Materials,” Judge Allows Sean Diddy Combs Limited Computer Access in Jail Ahead of Trial
Sean Diddy Combs, the 55-year-old music mogul, has been granted access to a laptop in jail to review discovery materials ahead of his May 2025 trial.
Judge Arun Subramanian ruled on Thursday that Combs, who is currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, will be allowed to use a pre-loaded laptop with discovery materials but with strict limitations.
According to the judge’s order, the laptop will be restricted to viewing the materials only and will not have any functions for taking or storing notes. The laptop will be available to Combs seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and any access outside these hours will need to be discussed with the government.
Combs is facing serious charges after being indicted in September, including federal charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The allegations accuse Combs of organizing “freak offs” and using his employees to facilitate the events. He has pleaded not guilty to these charges.
In addition to these criminal charges, Combs was also served with three new civil lawsuits on Thursday, alleging sexual assault against three anonymous males. These lawsuits are part of a broader series of allegations, with over a dozen similar accusations reported regarding Combs’ alleged misconduct dating back to the 2000s.
As Combs prepares for his upcoming trial, the legal proceedings surrounding him continue to evolve, with new developments and allegations emerging. His access to the laptop for reviewing discovery materials marks a significant step in his preparation for the trial, set to take place in May 2025.
