Sabrina Morrissey, Wendy Williams’ court-appointed guardian, is pushing back against claims made by the former talk show host about her treatment in an assisted living facility. In a letter to TMZ published on March 11, Morrissey’s attorney dismissed Williams’ statements as “untrue, inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading.”
The response follows Williams’ recent public complaints about being cut off from visitors and lacking access to her own finances. Williams, 59, claimed she has been isolated from family and friends. However, Morrissey’s lawyer refuted this, stating that the Wendy Williams Show alum has been free to see relatives and has even traveled to Florida twice—once in December 2024 for her son Kevin Hunter Jr.’s graduation and again in February for her father’s birthday.

Despite these claims, sources told TMZ that her February trip was initially blocked by a judge and only approved after the release of her Saving Wendy documentary. Morrissey’s attorney also defended the quality of the facility where Williams resides, describing it as a place that offers “excellent medical care, a spa, a workout room, excellent food, a dining room, and outside terraces.”
However, Williams pushed back on Good Day New York Tuesday morning, stating she must “be permitted” to access these amenities. She also expressed frustration over her finances, adding, “My money is, like, in the air.” Williams has reportedly signed paperwork seeking to end her guardianship, which was established in 2022. Morrissey’s lawyer claimed that Williams previously attempted the same last year.

The dispute between Williams and her guardian escalated days after she made headlines for dropping a handwritten note from her window that read, “Help! Wendy!!” The alarming message prompted a police wellness check. Earlier this year, Williams was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, but she continues to deny reports that she is “cognitively impaired.”

A judge ruled her “permanently incapacitated” in 2023, restricting her ability to manage her finances and legal affairs. Williams is expected to further address her ongoing legal battle and health concerns in an upcoming appearance on The View this Friday.
