Tommy Mottola and Thalia Purchase Miami Condo

An entity tied to Mexican singer Thalia and big-time music exec Tommy Mottola has purchased an $8 million condo at the Four Seasons in Miami’s Surfside.

TNT Miami, a limited liability company managed by the power couple, closed on the luxury condo at the Four Seasons Surf Club on May 13, the week after Florida’s coronavirus stay-at-home order expired, according to property documents newly filed with the county recorder.

Thalia, 48, is a Spanish-music star commonly known as the “Queen of Latin Pop,” and Mr. Mottola, 70, is the former chairman and CEO of Sony Music Entertainment who is credited with fostering the rise of icons such as Celine Dion, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez and Mariah Carey, his ex-wife. Their new purchase comes roughly a year after they sold a grand Georgian-style manor house in Greenwich, Connecticut, for nearly $15 million.

Their new condo spans 4,000-plus square feet and comes with balconies overlooking the sand views of the Atlantic Ocean and city skyline, according to the listing with Surf Club Realty, the in-house sales team representing the building’s developers, who could not immediately be reached for comment.

Condos at the building feature voluminous open-floor plans with wall-to-wall glass windows. This four-bedroom was also adorned in Italian travertine floors and includes a maid’s room, laundry room and kitchen cabinetry that the listing says was designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Richard Meier. The starchitect’s firm and Kobi Karp Architecture designed the minimalist white-and-glass hotel-condo development, which was completed in 2017.

The building also offers the Mottolas access to a host of amenities specific to residents of the luxury hotel, including a spa, a gym, pools and a private beach cabana, according to the developer’s website. They could rub elbows with a number of other high-flying residents at the Surf Club, including Miami Heat president Pat Riley, WeWork CEO Sandeep Mathrani and Groupon founder Eric Lefkofsky, according to The Real Deal.

It’s not the couple’s first tango in South Florida. Mr. Mottola used to own mansions on Palm Beach and Star Island, a celebrity-favored barrier enclave off of Miami Beach, property records show. An email sent to Mr. Mottola’s publicist was not immediately returned.
