Terry Crews recently shared a deeply personal and heartbreaking admission about his wife, Rebecca King-Crews, and their shared grief over losing children. In an interview with People, the Everybody Hates Chris star reflected on a poignant moment during a drone performance on America’s Got Talent that aired on 9/11. The performance told the story of losing a child, which resonated deeply with Terry and Rebecca.

“Me and my wife, we know what it’s like to lose a child,” Crews revealed. “We’ve had three miscarriages.”

The AGT host explained how the moving performance helped him process his own experiences. “It was so meaningful and special because the dedication is just… it’s a way to process these things,” he said, adding that the beautifully choreographed drone show was exactly what viewers needed. “This is the perfect AGT show today. We balanced out everything: laughs, dedication, fun, and dancing. It was just all over the place and it was perfect.”

Terry also reflected on the importance of music in helping him cope with loss. He shared that he often sits in a quiet room and listens to music to process his emotions. “I sit in a room and listen to music,” he said, explaining how it enables him to confront difficult feelings.

In addition to music, Terry emphasized the importance of open communication with his wife. “We have really nice, long, deep conversations,” he said, describing how they handle difficult times by turning off technology and simply talking. “It’s amazing what that does. You turn around an hour later and you’re like, ‘Wow, I can handle anything.’”

Terry and Rebecca, who married in 1989, share four children: Azriel, Tera, Wynfrey, and Isaiah. Terry also adopted Rebecca’s eldest daughter, Naomi, from a previous relationship. Crews has always been a dedicated father, telling Yahoo Life in 2022, “I know my kids need me, and I want to be that voice and that protector and that support.”

Terry also spoke candidly about Rebecca’s battle with breast cancer in 2020, when she underwent a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery after being diagnosed with stage 1 cancer. “Though it was Stage 1, you’re overwhelmed with fear, like cancer is this all-consuming, all-powerful evil entity,” he said at the time.

Throughout their marriage, Terry and Rebecca have faced numerous challenges, but their bond and open communication have remained a source of strength.
