Simon Cowell shows off huge back scar on a yacht in Barbados after surgery and horrific bike accident
SIMON Cowell’s large scar from his major back surgery was clear to see as he enjoyed the last hours of 2020 in Barbados.
The music and TV mogul, 61, is ending a particularly tough year in the best possible way with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman, son Eric and friends in the Caribbean.
The BGT boss looked tanned and in good shape as he lounged on a luxury yacht and went swimming in the sea.
He wore white swimshorts and shades and could be seen having a cigarette while he talked to a pal.
In August, Simon was rushed to hospital to undergo six hours of surgery after falling off an electric bike and breaking his back in LA.
He narrowly avoided being paralysed and was forced to cancel all his planned TV work for the rest of the year.
Earlier this week he was spotted having vigorous stretching and weights session on the yacht.
He laid on his back and raised his arms up in front of him, putting both them and his back under tension.
He then coordinated arm and leg raises before climbing to his feet to reveal his faded scar.
The America’s Got Talent judge is looking in great shape just four months after his horror electric bike accident nearly paralysed him.
Making the most of the Caribbean sunshine, Simon jumped on a jet ski and rode across the turquoise water.
The Sun recently revealed Simon has been pounding out 10,000 steps a day in a punishing fitness regime.
Close friend and former girlfriend Sinitta said: “He’s come back from a really scary position and is feeling blessed because the outcome could have been so different.
“Simon has worked hard at his recovery and told me he’s walking 10,000 steps a day that’s around five miles – way more than he was before the accident.
“He’s got one of those watches that measures every step.
“He’s still having a lot of physiotherapy, seeing great doctors and doing non weight bearing pool work especially for spinal injuries,
“Simon has really looked after himself
“Lauren and his team have taken great care of him and he’s being sensible.”
