Selena Gomez Responds to Cosmetic Surgery Rumors: “I Hate This”

Selena Gomez seems to have had enough of the rumors. On July 27, the 32-year-old singer responded to a TikTok video shared by a physician’s assistant from a Florida plastic surgeon’s office. The video, originally posted in 2023, addressed recent online speculation that the Lose You to Love Me singer had undergone cosmetic surgery.
“Honestly,” Selena commented on the post, “I hate this.” The Only Murders in the Building star went on to clarify her stance, stating, “I’m on stripes because of a flare-up,” and adding, “I have Botox. That’s it. Leave me alone.”
In the video, Marissa Barrionuevo, the PA, displayed two side-by-side pictures of Selena’s face: one from a few years ago and another from the 2023 Golden Globes. Barrionuevo refrained from speculating about any potential changes in Selena’s appearance.
“I think she’s been through so much in her life, especially medically related, so I don’t think it’s fair to speculate whether or not she’s gotten cosmetic things done,” Barrionuevo stated. “At the end of the day, let’s just leave her be.”
Following Selena’s comment, Barrionuevo posted an apology video. “I adore you,” she said. “I really do mean the best, so I apologize if this rubbed you the wrong way in any way whatsoever.”
She continued, “You don’t owe it to anyone to tell us why you don’t look the same as you did when you were a teenager or in your twenties.” Selena appeared to accept the apology. “I love you,” she responded in a comment posted on July 28. “Not about you. I just get sad sometimes.”
