Pamela Anderson Finally Gets Her Moment at BAFTAs After Years of Being Overlooked

Pamela Anderson is on cloud nine after earning recognition from BAFTA bosses for her new movie, The Last Showgirl. While she didn’t land a nomination, she’s been invited to play a major role in this year’s awards ceremony—presenting one of the prestigious awards at London’s Royal Festival Hall on February 17.

“Presenting at the BAFTAs is a huge deal for Pamela,” an insider shared, revealing that the Baywatch icon feels like this moment is long overdue. “In many ways, she feels vindicated after years of being undervalued or mocked.”

According to sources, BAFTA bosses were so impressed with The Last Showgirl that they knew they wanted Anderson to be part of the event. “Finally, after all these years, she is being seen as the great actress she is,” the insider added.

This year’s BAFTAs will be hosted by Doctor Who star David Tennant, marking his second consecutive year leading the ceremony. Anderson’s involvement is already generating buzz, with many celebrating her long-awaited moment of industry recognition.

Speaking at a special screening of The Last Showgirl in London earlier this week, Anderson reflected on how her life prepared her for the role. “I could have never played this role if I hadn’t had the life I had,” she shared. “I was doing Playboy covers and reading Tennessee Williams, wondering how do I get from here to here? And I did. It was fun making it. And therapy too,” she admitted.

Anderson also revealed that the film almost slipped through her fingers. Initially, director Gia Coppola sent the script to her old agent, who dismissed it within an hour. But Coppola didn’t give up—she went through Anderson’s son, Brandon, who had worked on a documentary about her life.

“When I got it, I was at my house, in my garden making pickles and jam,” Anderson recalled. “I thought, ‘OK, I can make my life beautiful no matter what.’” Realizing what an opportunity the film was, she didn’t hesitate to take it. “Because it almost slipped through my fingers, I thought I better grab this by the throat,” she added.

With her career finally being recognized in the way she’s always hoped, Anderson’s moment at the BAFTAs is shaping up to be a major milestone.
