Michelle Obama made a surprise appearance on Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast this week, opening up about her marriage to former President Barack Obama and her personal routines. Kelce, who had previously named Michelle Obama as her dream guest, shared a teaser clip on Wednesday, March 19, announcing the highly anticipated interview.
In the footage, Michelle spoke about her love for an early bedtime, a habit that Barack frequently teases her about. “Bedtime is the best time of the day,” she said. “My husband teases me about how early I can go to bed. He doesn’t understand the idea of getting into some good sheets and it is cool,” she shared.

While Michelle enjoys socializing when guests are over, she admitted that she loves winding down after dinner. “The minute we finish up, I’m trying not to go to bed before the sun goes down,” she noted. The former first lady also discussed raising her daughters, Malia and Sasha, and the importance of a structured bedtime routine when they were young.
“The girls, they were good sleepers,” she recalled. “Bath time, seven o’clock, bedtime 7:30, and then I had at least a couple of hours where nobody was asking me for anything. Maybe that’s where I got the early bedtime from!” Kelce, who is expecting her fourth daughter with NFL star Jason Kelce, responded with admiration. “That’s lovely.”
Michelle and Barack Obama, who have been married for 32 years, have recently faced renewed speculation about their relationship, Daily Mail reported. The former first lady was notably absent from key public events, including Jimmy Carter’s state funeral and Donald Trump’s inauguration, where she broke tradition by declining to attend.

Most recently, Barack attended an NBA game between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Detroit Pistons without Michelle by his side. Instead, he was seen sitting alongside Clippers owner Steve Ballmer and his wife, Connie Snyder. Kelce’s podcast has quickly gained popularity since its launch in December, drawing attention for its candid and engaging conversations.
In a past interview with The New York Times, Kelce expressed her deep admiration for Michelle Obama. “I would talk to Michelle Obama in a heartbeat, and I know she is not personally running [for president], but I would love it if she would,” she said.
