Kelly Clarkson Makes Festive Comeback as Host of ‘Christmas in Rockefeller Center’
Kelly Clarkson is set to return as the host of NBC’s Christmas in Rockefeller Center for the second consecutive year. The 42-year-old singer and TV personality shared the exciting announcement with her audience during the November 5 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, expressing her love for the holiday season in New York City.
“Let’s talk about this incredible time of year,” Clarkson began, sharing her enthusiasm with the audience. “The city is so magical. I love the holidays in New York.” Reflecting on her experience last year, she added, “Living here during Christmas is like you’re in a movie. There’s nothing like it in the world, especially the tree lighting ceremony, which is an iconic tradition.”
Clarkson reminisced about her first time hosting the event, describing the awe-inspiring moment the famous Rockefeller tree was illuminated. “I got to host it last year, and I thought, ‘Oh, this will be fun,’” she shared. “Then, the tree lit up, and you would’ve thought, like, I don’t know, I found out I was going to survive something. I bawled. It’s so beautiful when you’re standing there.”
Clarkson’s emotional reaction to the tree lighting underscores her excitement to reprise her role as host. “I’m especially excited though, because for the second year in a row, I’m going to host Christmas in Rockefeller Center,” she revealed.
The holiday special is set to air on December 4, and fans can expect Clarkson to perform some of her popular hits during the event. Clarkson’s return to the iconic celebration promises to bring plenty of festive cheer and music to viewers, as she helps usher in the holiday season from one of New York City’s most beloved landmarks.
