Jennifer Lopez reportedly “agreed” to purchase the Beverly Hills mansion with Ben Affleck in 2023 due to the property’s features rather than any emotional connection. According to People, the couple bought the $60.8 million home in May 2023, but by July 2024, they had already listed it for sale, asking for about $6 million more.

“The $68 million mansion was Ben’s idea and a major compromise for her,” a source told People, emphasizing that Lopez’s decision was based on the practical benefits of the property. The mansion offers ample space for both their families, a gym, a pickleball court, office space, and two private entrances, making it appealing from a functional perspective.

While Lopez agreed to the purchase, the source noted that she doesn’t prefer the ultra-modern style of the home. “She loves the romantic, Spanish, European vibe,” the insider added, suggesting that the mansion didn’t align with her aesthetic preferences.

Another source provided insight into why the home wasn’t ideal for Affleck, citing its location as inconvenient for the actor. “His life’s in Brentwood. His kids live there,” the source explained. “It was such a pain and time-consuming for Ben to navigate traffic from their house. He never liked it.”

The couple’s decision to sell the property just a year after purchasing it highlights the challenges they faced in finding a home that suited both their lifestyles.
