Gypsy-Rose Blanchard has officially finalized her contentious divorce from Ryan Scott Anderson, just months after announcing their split. The Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up star, 33, filed for divorce in April following a March 28 Facebook post revealing their separation. The couple, who married in a no-guest jailhouse ceremony in July 2022, called it quits just three months after Blanchard’s December 2023 release from prison.

The divorce coincides with the upcoming release of Blanchard’s memoir, My Time to Stand, scheduled for December 10, 2024. In the lead-up to the book’s release, Blanchard opened up about her turbulent marriage and struggles with intimacy in an interview with People Magazine.

“I still struggled when I first came out of prison,” she admitted, referencing her adjustment to physical relationships after serving eight years of a 10-year sentence for her role in the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. “Ryan and my sex life was not ideal. I told him privately. Maybe it was a lack of attraction in that area or if I still wasn’t processing properly.”

Her comments stand in stark contrast to a now-infamous social media post from January 2023. At the time, Blanchard defended Anderson against online criticism, writing under one of his Instagram posts, “Don’t listen to the haters… Besides, they are jealous because you are rocking my world every night. Yeah, I said it, the D is fire.”

However, insiders report deeper issues leading to the divorce. A friend of Blanchard’s revealed to People Magazine that a heated argument in March played a key role in the split. According to the friend, Anderson’s behavior reminded Blanchard of past trauma.

“He got in her face and screamed,” Nadiya Vizier, 23, recounted. “Gypsy said that she was afraid he was going to hit her. He didn’t — but that happened in the past with her mother. So, her first instinct was to tighten up and be prepared. But she got to safety and called her lawyer, too. Ryan is a big guy, and she told me it was really scary.”

Following the split, Blanchard quickly rekindled her relationship with ex-fiancé Ken Urker. The two are now expecting their first child, due in January 2025. Blanchard’s divorce marks another chapter in her tumultuous journey, one she appears ready to share in her upcoming memoir, which is expected to shed further light on her struggles, relationships, and hopes for the future.
