Rap superstar Drake is reportedly making a renewed effort to win over Jennifer Lopez following her rumored separation from husband Ben Affleck, insiders have revealed. The pop icon, however, is said to be taking her time and making the rapper work for her attention.
According to a source speaking to RadarOnline, Jennifer Lopez is not rushing into anything despite Drake’s persistent advances. “Drake’s been trying to get her into bed since the moment he heard Ben walked out on her – he’s just been playing the long game,” the insider claimed.

While the two were briefly linked back in 2017, when they shared cozy moments on Instagram, things reportedly didn’t progress far at the time. But that hasn’t stopped the “Hotline Bling” hitmaker from rekindling his interest, especially in light of recent developments in Lopez’s personal life.
“He didn’t want to come on too strong and spook her, so he really leaned into the caring-friend role,” a source said, describing Drake’s strategic approach. “They’ve been texting back and forth for nearly a year. It wasn’t G-rated, but he didn’t pressure her.”
Despite his efforts, including sending flowers and lavish gifts, it appears Drake is struggling to move beyond the “friend” zone. “He’s getting frustrated and feels like he might be in the friend zone now,” noted the source.
However, the Canadian artist isn’t backing down. “He would have blown this off by now and stopped wasting his time, but she’s one of his all-time crushes, so he doesn’t want to give up,” the source explained.
Lopez, for her part, is reportedly enjoying the attention but staying cautious. “She knows Drake’s reputation with the ladies and she’s making sure she’s not just another notch on his belt,” an insider emphasized. The source added that JLo is far from smitten and is playing her cards carefully instead.

“It’s harmless fun to her and she intends to string him along for as long as it pleases her,” said another insider, suggesting that Lopez has no plans to make things serious any time soon.
While fans may be eager to see sparks fly between the two A-listers, it seems Lopez is calling the shots—and for now, Drake will have to keep waiting and wooing.
