Blake Lively Honored Her Father After Heartbreaking Family News
Blake Lively posted a tribute to her late father, Ernie Lively on Instagram. He passed away today, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Following the news, Blake posted an image of them together on her Instagram Story, captioning it with a simple heart emoji. The photo shows the two of them hugging. Ernie was a prolific actor, with roles in Passenger 57, The Dukes of Hazzard, American Pie 2, and Turner & Hooch. He even acted with his daughter, playing real-life dad to Blake’s character Bridget Vreeland in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
Ernie’s cause of death was reported as “cardiac complications.” He suffered a heart attack back in 2003 and received experimental stem-cell therapy as part of his recovery. His wife, Elaine, and five children, Blake, Eric, Lori, Robyn, and Jason, were with him when he passed.
Lively has been keeping a low profile throughout the coronavirus pandemic, spending lockdown with her husband Ryan Reynolds and her family in New York City. However, the couple still managed to help out while they stayed home. According to Entertainment Tonight Canada, Lively and Reynolds made a $200,000 donation to St. Francis Xavier University’s Coady Institute’s new initiative, the Circle of Abundance, which works to promote women’s voices and leadership. And before the 2020 election, the couple urged voters to get out and cast their ballots.
