Adam Brody Spills the Secrets Behind the ‘Magic’ of His Marriage to Leighton Meester

Adam Brody, star of the new Netflix series Nobody Wants This, recently appeared on Today with Hoda and Jenna to promote the show and discuss his personal life, including his decade-long marriage to Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester. While promoting his rom-com, which also stars Kristen Bell, Brody opened up about the secret to his enduring relationship.
During the interview, Hoda Kotb couldn’t help but ask about Brody’s marriage, saying, “We should point out, you’ve been married for 10 years. What’s the magic of your relationship?” Brody’s response was simple yet heartfelt. “Oh, pick someone good. Be lucky and be in love with someone who’s great and then just kind of listen to them,” he shared. His thoughtful answer struck a chord with co-host Jenna Bush Hager, who chimed in, “I love that.”
According to People, Brody went on to elaborate on his relationship philosophy. “If you’re with someone great, you’re on third base,” he explained. “Not that it doesn’t take sacrifice and humility—you have to grow together and be willing to grow. But if you’re with someone wonderful, I think you’re already ahead.”
Brody and Meester, who tied the knot in 2014, have two children together: a daughter named Arlo and a son, whose name they have kept private.
