Amber Heard has quietly stepped away from the Hollywood spotlight, relocating to Madrid, Spain, with her daughter, Oonagh Paige. The move was revealed by the Daily Mail’s Alison Boshoff, who reported on Thursday that the Aquaman actress has left the glitz of Hollywood behind to focus on raising her young daughter.

According to a friend of Heard’s, “She’s bilingual in Spanish and is happy there, raising her daughter away from all the noise.” The friend also hinted that while Heard may return to the entertainment industry one day, she’s not in any rush. “She will probably come back when the time is right, for the right project,” the friend added.

Heard’s departure from Hollywood comes after significant changes in her personal life. Last year, the Drive Angry actress sold her home in Yucca Valley, California, for $1.1 million, nearly double the $570,000 she paid for it in 2019. In October, she was spotted in Majorca with her now ex-girlfriend, Eve Barlow, living in a rented house on the island. The two reportedly split in December, with Barlow later writing on Substack about searching for optimism after a challenging year.

Now settled in her new home outside Madrid, Heard is focusing on her life with her two-year-old daughter. However, she hasn’t completely stepped away from her acting career. Heard will reprise her role as Mera in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, set for release in December, and has also completed filming for the supernatural thriller In the Fire last year.

According to the New York Post, Heard’s move to Spain comes nearly a year after the high-profile defamation trial with her ex-husband, Johnny Depp. Depp had sued Heard for $50 million in 2019, accusing her of fabricating claims of abuse to secure a larger divorce settlement. Heard countersued for $100 million. The trial concluded in June 2022, with the court ordering Heard to pay Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $350,000 in punitive damages for defamation, stemming from a 2018 op-ed she wrote.

Following the trial, Heard sought a retrial, arguing that the jury’s verdict was not supported by evidence. Meanwhile, Depp has reportedly retreated to a quieter life in the English countryside. As Heard begins this new chapter in Spain, she remains connected to the entertainment world, but for now, her focus appears to be on raising her daughter and finding peace away from the Hollywood spotlight.
