Philadelphia Eagles Denounce Fake Ads Claiming Team Endorses Kamala Harris

The Philadelphia Eagles quickly distanced themselves from advertisements that appeared around the city on Monday, falsely suggesting that the team endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president.

The ads, spotted at bus stops in Center City, featured an illustration of Harris wearing the Eagles’ iconic helmet, accompanied by the caption: “Official candidate of the Philadelphia Eagles.” The ad also included a link to a fake website, PhiladelphiaEagles.com/Vote.

In response to the unauthorized ads, the Eagles issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter), making it clear that they had no connection to the political promotion. “We are aware counterfeit political ads are being circulated and are working with our advertising partner to have them removed,” the team announced.

The Eagles’ swift disavowal highlights their efforts to separate themselves from any political endorsements, particularly in a city as passionate about both its sports teams and politics as Philadelphia. The fake ads created confusion and raised concerns among fans and residents, prompting the team to take immediate action to clarify the situation.

The team’s response underscores the importance of maintaining clear boundaries between sports organizations and political campaigns, especially during an election season. As the Eagles work to remove the counterfeit ads, they continue to emphasize their commitment to focusing on the game and supporting their community without engaging in political endorsements.
