Vice President Kamala Harris did not come to play — she came to decimate. Her campaign made this clear on Thursday morning in an email responding to former President Donald Trump’s recent television interview titled “Statement on a 78-Year-Old Criminal’s Fox News Appearance.”

“After watching Fox News this morning we only have one question,” the Harris campaign wrote. “Is Donald Trump ok?” The email then provided a list of takeaways that suggested their answer would be negative. The Harris campaign noted that Trump praised the Project 2025 platform he has repeatedly tried to distance himself from and supported abortion bans.

“Trump is flustered and lashing out,” the Harris campaign stated. “When Trump wasn’t lying, he was making threats.”

Another bullet point earned a “LOL” from Huffington Post reporter Jennifer Bendery: “Trump is old and quite weird.” The email concluded with a message from campaign spokesperson James Singer in response to what he termed Trump’s “Fox rant.”

“The dangerous threats of an old man don’t create jobs, protect our rights, or keep us safe,” Singer said. “Vice President Kamala Harris offers something different: freedom, lower costs, and opportunity for all.”

Bendery was not the only one to praise the Harris campaign’s snark. “All we’ve been asking for,” replied X user Drew Van Drese. “Someone with cohesive messaging who can point at them and see, ‘Look at these freaks!!!!'” “Trump IS old and IS quite weird and IS a Convicted Felon too,” added Michael Banach.

“That’s the word we all need to latch on,” wrote Betty Anne. “Keep calling these people weird. Because they are. Everything they think, say, & do is weird.” “Finally!” wrote Mr. Proctober on Thursday. “He’s super weird and so are the people around him.”

The Harris campaign’s email showcases their strategy of confronting Trump head-on, using pointed humor and sharp criticism. As the 2024 presidential race heats up, this approach aims to draw stark contrasts between Harris and Trump, emphasizing her vision of “freedom, lower costs, and opportunity for all.”

The back-and-forth between the campaigns highlights the increasing intensity of the political climate. Harris’s campaign is evidently ready to respond swiftly and decisively to any attacks from Trump, reinforcing her image as a strong and assertive candidate.

In the coming months, the interactions between these campaigns will likely become even more heated as they vie for the support of voters. Harris’s ability to effectively communicate her platform and counter Trump’s rhetoric will be crucial in shaping public perception and garnering votes.
