People Who Have Been Vaccinated Against Covid-19 Experience Common Symptoms after Testing Positive

While it may be well known that common Covid symptoms include fatigue, a sore throat, and headaches, there is one more symptom that is frequently mentioned by sufferers.

For vaccinated Britons, diarrhoea is a typical symptom of Covid, per data acquired by the ZOE Health Study app.

The Omicron form of Covid-19 may have contributed to a spike in the number of persons who reported this symptom in January 2022, according to data.

However, the ZOE team pointed out that there seemed to be a “wave of other non-Covid tummy bugs going around too”.

According to the team, diarrhoea can be an early symptom of the virus, appearing on the first day of infection and increasing worse over the course of the following week.

“It usually lasts for an average of two to three days, but can last up to seven days in adults,” the ZOE team said.

As per Yahoo, the data found this symptom has become less common with each variant, as nearly a third of adults aged over 35 reported having diarrhoea during the Alpha wave, while just one in five said they experienced it during the Omicron and Delta waves.

The individuals who were exposed to it in the final two waves had either had two vaccinations or their booster shot.

According to the NHS, adult diarrhoea is common, and the most crucial thing to do is to remain hydrated.

The health service also suggests staying at home, getting lots of rest, and eating whenever you feel like it.

Make sure you take a Covid test and follow government guidelines if you test positive if you have diarrhoea combined with other common Covid symptoms like a high temperature, a new cough, or a loss or change in taste or smell.
