Their relationship has largely been conducted away from the spotlight, but Ellie Goulding and Dougie Poynter found themselves centre of attention on Tuesday evening during a night out at Chiltern Firehouse.

The celebrity couple were amongst the latest glut of familiar faces to pass through the popular bar-restaurant and 120 suite hotel’s entrance ahead of a romantic meal on what appeared to be a rare public outing. Ellie Goulding, 27, looked surprisingly understated in a black vest top and skinny leather trousers cropped above the ankle as she made her way inside with McBusted bassist Dougie. Strappy sandals and a smart leather handbag completed the ensemble, while two gold statement chains proved to be the only other visible accessories.

Meanwhile the Burn singer’s boyfriend looked relaxed in a roomy tropical print shirt, skinny jeans and Chelsea boots. A raffish trilby hat and one very distinctive sleeve tattoo appeared to underscore the 26-year-old’s hipster credentials as he dined out with Ellie Goulding. While it was a peaceful night for the couple, Tuesday was equally busy for the Firehouse – who opened their doors to large celebrity contingent throughout the evening. Amongst those to dine out at the Chiltern Street address was Poppy Delevigne, who looked incredibly slender in a white vest and skinny leather trousers.

Making her way out of the venue later that night, she was assisted by a female pal before climbing into the rear of her waiting car with a bottle of Chanel perfume clutched in her hands. Princess Beatrice also made an appearance after a previous engagement at the Venyx World jewelery launch. The British Royal opted for a smart black evening dress and matching lace shawl, while snappy black heels rounded off a sophisticated look. Elsewhere happy couple Jesse Metcalfe and Cara Santana – currently enjoying a prolonged stay in the UK – enjoyed their second night out at the venue in as many weeks. The couple were arm in arm as they made their way inside, with Cara opting for a white dress with a striking black print design.

Another couple dining out on Thursday was Boyzone star Ronan Keating and Storm Uechtritz. The pair were in high spirits while chatting outside after a night of wining and dining with pals at the hugely popular restaurant. Elsewhere new Made In Chelsea star Emma Miller caught the eye in a semi-sheer dress and strappy heels as she made her way inside. Sporting a black jumpsuit and matching leather jacket, socialite Tamara Beckwith was also seen out side the Firehouse – as was Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden.
