The Swiss professional tennis player Roger Federer, currently playing at Olympics 2012, is celebrating his 31st birthday today being happy with his Silver Medal.

Roger Federer was born on 8 August 1981 in Binningen, Switzerland near Basel. He started his tennis career as a junior player at 17 years age. In 2000, he won Hopman Cup and in 2003 he won first Grand Slam singles title at Wimbledon. It was his period of dominance. He has been winning a number of Grand Slam singles title since then and is ranked World number 1 tennis player by the ATP.

Roger Federer is married to former Women’s Tennis Association player Mirka Vavrinec and is father of identical twin girls. Recently, in the Olympic 2012 final on Centre Court at Wimbledon, he played against Andy Murray but did not win the gold medal. Talking to ESPN Roger Federer said: “Don’t feel too bad for me. I felt like I won my silver, I didn’t lose it. So I feel really happy.”
