Content creator and physical therapist Lizzie Kieffer is navigating an unimaginable heartbreak following the death of her 12-month-old daughter, Lilian “Lily” Louise Kieffer. In an emotional message shared on April 26, Lizzie, who has built a following of over 300,000 by helping women through their pregnancy journeys, announced the devastating news.
“We are shattered,” Lizzie wrote. “Wednesday, we woke up to a nightmare that we never imagined becoming our reality. Our Lily passed away.” Lizzie and her husband, Matt Kieffer — with whom she shares daughter Mia and is expecting a third child — said they are still searching for answers about their daughter’s sudden passing.

“We don’t have answers and we don’t know why this is God’s plan for us,” she shared. “We also have come to learn that Lily had a large mass on her brain that we could have never known about, as she never showed signs. We won’t know more answers with many of these things for months until further testing is done.”
The family’s grief is compounded by the mystery surrounding Lily’s death, but Lizzie took time to reflect on the profound impact Lily had during her short life. “Our hearts, our bodies, our souls ache for her as she was the purist of beings and brought light to every single space,” Lizzie wrote.
“Our days are written before we were even formed, and in Lily’s 374 days of life, she taught us more than I think many could in their lifetime.” Lizzie expressed deep gratitude for the support and prayers they have received from friends, family, and her online community, asking for continued thoughts and prayers as they navigate the painful days ahead.
In her post, Lizzie also directed heartfelt words to her late daughter. “You will always, always be a part of us, and although the hole will never be filled, speaking your name will sing through our days, bringing joy into the moments,” she wrote.
“You’re our light in this darkness, and we know God is holding you in an extra special place.” She added, “Daddy, Mommy, Mia & new baby love you so damn much and we miss you every single second.”

The tribute prompted an outpouring of condolences from followers and fellow content creators. Madeline Custer, among others, offered words of comfort.

“Words are so inadequate—I am praying for an unexplainable peace for you guys that could only come from God,” Madeline wrote. “You’re in every thought and prayer, and if there are needs that arise for the day-to-day, please let your community know. I know it would be an honor to so many.”
