Meghan Markle’s ‘compulsiveness desperation’ gets exposed: ‘I feel sorry for her’

Meghan Markle has found herself facing a new wave of criticism, this time from former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown, who took aim at the Duchess of Sussex’s recent career moves.

During a candid conversation with The Telegraph, Brown shared her unfiltered thoughts on Meghan’s endeavors in 2025, including her lifestyle show With Love, Meghan, her podcast, and the launch of her new brand.

In Brown’s view, Meghan’s latest projects seem like an attempt to recapture her early success. “She’s back in 2013, doing the Tig,” Brown remarked, referencing Meghan’s former lifestyle blog. “I think Suits and the Tig was the last time she felt successful. It’s all been hellish ever since.”

The criticism didn’t end there. Brown quickly shifted from commentary to a direct rebuke, urging the Duchess to reconsider her current approach. “Every week, she announces a new project. Stop announcing projects!” she exclaimed. “She’s almost compulsive about announcing things, and they don’t really happen. They fade, and she looks ridiculous. I feel sorry for her, because she’s so lost.”

Brown’s critique was not solely reserved for Meghan. She also took a swipe at Prince Harry, suggesting that the couple’s pursuit of wealth has led to a string of poor decisions. “Unfortunately, his appetite — their appetite — for money made him make disastrous decisions,” Brown stated.

Among those decisions, Brown singled out two particularly damaging moments: Prince Harry’s memoir and the couple’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. “The disastrous decision of the book was very hard to return from,” she observed. “I think the Oprah [Winfrey] interview was the most gratuitously stupid move. There wasn’t any money in it.”

The Duchess’s ventures in 2025 were initially launched with considerable fanfare, but Brown’s harsh assessment reflects growing skepticism about the couple’s ability to maintain long-term momentum. While Meghan’s projects aim to carve a new space for her brand outside royal life, Brown’s remarks suggest that repeated high-profile announcements without substantial follow-through may be doing more harm than good.

Brown’s comments have reignited debate over Meghan and Harry’s post-royal strategy, a subject that continues to divide public opinion. Whether Meghan will adjust her approach following this latest round of criticism remains to be seen. For now, the Duchess appears determined to press ahead, but with voices like Tina Brown’s entering the conversation, the scrutiny surrounding her every move is only likely to intensify.
