Barack and Michelle Obama’s rumored divorce has reportedly escalated, with fresh claims suggesting their $70 million fortune has become a major source of conflict. According to RadarOnline, attempts to amicably divide their assets have fallen apart — and their daughters may now be caught in the middle.
The Obamas, married for over 30 years, are allegedly working on splitting their wealth, but recent talks have taken a dramatic turn. A source told the outlet that the situation intensified after both parties failed to agree on a once-secret asset division plan. The disagreement reportedly left Michelle Obama furious.

“She doesn’t want Barack anywhere near it. The notion of him profiting from her sweat and vision galled her, and she’s apparently willing to go to war over it,” said the insider, referring to Michelle’s strong stance on keeping control of their shared media company, Higher Ground Productions.
The original plan laid out by lawyers would have awarded Michelle full ownership of Higher Ground, along with their Chicago home and the Martha’s Vineyard estate. Barack, in turn, would keep their Washington, D.C., mansion and split their $22.5 million stock portfolio.
However, tension reportedly boiled over when Barack asked for a stake in the production company. According to the source, Michelle “went ballistic” over the request, effectively derailing the plan. In response, Barack allegedly refused to hand over ownership of the Martha’s Vineyard property.
“When Michelle raised a stink over the Higher Ground profits, he dug in his heels and nixed the idea of her having it,” the insider explained. What’s more, the source claimed that the former first couple has even asked their daughters, Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23, to take sides in the dispute — a move that shocked the young women.

“It was a messy scene and not at all keeping with the calm and nurturing image they both project in public. The girls were positively shell-shocked,” the source added.
The alleged divorce drama gained traction earlier this year when Barack attended former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral and Donald Trump’s inauguration without Michelle. Speculation intensified despite the couple sharing affectionate posts on Instagram for Valentine’s Day.
While the Obamas have not publicly addressed the reports, the insider claims the relationship is under serious strain. “They don’t pretend that they have this Camelot relationship. They’re not trying to present that they’re this magical couple,” the source concluded.
