Expert Claims Prince Harry Is Wasting His Talents After Marrying Meghan Markle

Prince Harry’s life in California may look picture-perfect from the outside, but one royal expert believes the Duke of Sussex is quietly living a life of regret and missed opportunity.

Since stepping back from royal duties in 2020 alongside his wife, Meghan Markle, Harry has traded his life of public service for a more private existence in the United States. But according to royal expert Hugo Vickers, the shift hasn’t done him any favours — and may even be damaging to his sense of purpose.

“It’s most unfortunate, the whole thing, really — he was trained to do exactly that sort of work and does it very well,” Vickers told The Sun. “And the fact that he’s sort of isolated from it just means that he’s leading a rather pointless existence.”

Vickers believes Harry is no longer at the forefront of his own narrative and is instead playing second fiddle to Meghan, who remains a prominent public figure. “He’s probably something of a liability because even if he does go over there and do something, the questions are always going to be, ‘what’s Meghan up to?’” he added.

Harry and Meghan’s royal exit, famously dubbed “Megxit,” saw the couple leave the UK with their son, Prince Archie, and relocate to California. In the years since, the pair have made headlines with explosive interviews and documentaries, accusing the Royal Family of racism and mistreatment, particularly relating to concerns about Archie’s skin colour before his birth.

Now living a life far removed from his royal roots, Harry has welcomed a second child, daughter Princess Lilibet, and pursued various media ventures, including podcasts and Netflix productions. Still, critics like Vickers argue that he’s drifting further from the charitable and diplomatic work he was trained to do, and once excelled at.

For many royal watchers, Harry’s post-palace chapter is filled with more drama than duty. And if Vickers’ assessment is right, the Duke may be quietly grappling with what he’s left behind — and what he’s yet to become.
