Cassie Ventura, the model and singer known for her past relationship with music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, will testify under her real name in the upcoming federal trial where Combs faces serious criminal charges, federal prosecutors confirmed this week.
The 37-year-old Ventura, who was in a relationship with Combs from 2007 to 2018, is one of four alleged victims expected to take the stand when the trial begins on May 5. Unlike the other three women involved in the case—identified in court documents as Victim-2, Victim-3, and Victim-4—Ventura will not request anonymity.

“(Cassie) is prepared to testify under her own name. Victim-2, Victim-3, and Victim-4 have asked that their identities not be revealed to the press or the public,” federal prosecutors stated in a recent motion. The filing also addressed the intense media attention the case has received, according to Variety.
“This case has already received an exceptional amount of media coverage, which will presumably only increase as the trial proceeds,” the document read. “Permitting these measures will prevent unnecessary public disclosure of the victims’ identities, and the harassment from the media and others, undue embarrassment, and other adverse consequences that would almost certainly follow if these women were forced to reveal their true names publicly at trial,” the motion added.

Combs, 55, is currently facing five counts stemming from three separate federal charges, including racketeering, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Ventura’s decision to testify publicly comes months after she filed a civil lawsuit against Combs, accusing him of years of abuse. The lawsuit was settled out of court just one day after it was filed. However, the matter returned to public scrutiny following the leak of disturbing surveillance footage appearing to show Combs assaulting Ventura in a hotel hallway—footage that went viral and sparked national outrage.

Following the leak, a wave of civil lawsuits emerged, with multiple individuals—both women and men—accusing the Bad Boy Records founder of sexual misconduct, further intensifying scrutiny around Combs. Federal agents also raided three of Combs’ properties during their investigation, signaling the breadth and seriousness of the probe.
Since his arrest on September 16, Combs has been held without bail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn as he awaits trial. With Ventura now set to testify openly, the high-profile case is poised to draw even more national attention in the weeks to come.
