Trump Blames Biden for Leaked War Plans in Explosive Statement: ‘This Is a Distraction from Our Military Successes’

Amid intensifying scrutiny over a major security breach involving leaked military strike details, the White House released a defiant statement Wednesday, shifting blame to former President Joe Biden for emboldening America’s adversaries and failing to secure key international shipping lanes.

The fiery response, first reported by Irish Star, comes after revelations that several Trump administration officials discussed classified war plans in a Signal messaging group that included The Atlantic’s editor-in-chief, Jeffrey Goldberg. The White House now seeks to deflect attention from the controversy, while accusing Democrats and the media of political distraction.

“Democrats and their media allies have seemingly forgotten that President Donald J. Trump and his National Security team successfully killed terrorists who have targeted US troops and disrupted the most consequential shipping routes in the world,” the statement read. “This is a coordinated effort to distract from the successful actions taken by President Trump and his administration to make America’s enemies pay and keep Americans safe.”

The White House claims Biden’s policies, particularly his decision to remove Yemen’s Houthi rebels from the Foreign Terrorist Organizations list, have directly contributed to rising regional instability.

“The Biden Administration sat back as a band of pirates with precision-guided, Iran-provided weaponry exacted a toll system in one of the most important shipping lanes in the world,” the statement continued. Since 2023, Houthi terrorists have attacked US Navy warships 174 times and attacked commercial shipping vessels 145 times.

As a result, 75% of US-flagged shipping has been forced to navigate the southern coast of Africa rather than through the Suez Canal.” President Trump also issued a separate statement accusing Biden of responding with “feckless, pinprick attacks,” and insisted his own administration had taken “unrelenting action to keep Americans safe.”

The White House’s defense came as more details emerged about the Signal leak that has rocked the Trump administration. On Monday, Goldberg confirmed he was mistakenly added to a Signal chat involving high-level officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vice President JD Vance, White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

According to The Independent, Goldberg received a message from Hegseth at 11:44 a.m.—just two hours before military strikes began—containing “precise information about weapons packages, targets, and timing.”

White House National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes acknowledged the thread appeared legitimate, stating, “At this time, the message thread that was reported appears to be authentic, and we are reviewing how an inadvertent number was added to the chain.”
