Abigail Spencer had no problem laughing at herself after Meghan Markle playfully teased her about her cooking skills on the latest episode of With Love, Meghan. During an interview with Hello! Magazine, published on March 19, Spencer admitted she was “dying laughing” at Meghan’s playful remarks about her abilities in the kitchen.
“It was so funny when she told me she was going to teach me how to cook fish. ‘I’m sorry, you’re what?’” Spencer recalled with amusement. “I didn’t know where anything was in that kitchen. I felt like I was just doggy paddling, and she was doing butterfly kicks!”

The moment, which was featured in the fifth episode of With Love, Meghan, saw the Duchess of Sussex teasing her longtime friend, saying, “Abby has other strengths!” Spencer wholeheartedly agreed, joking that her true talents lay in “serving champagne while you cook” rather than in culinary expertise.
Spencer and Markle, who first met in 2007, share a deep bond that has only grown over the years. Spencer attended Meghan’s royal wedding and hosted a baby shower for her before the birth of Prince Archie. The two even share the same birthday and refer to themselves as “birthday soul sisters.”
While Spencer may not be a culinary whiz, she has certainly found success in other ventures. She has since ventured into business, running a floral subscription service. Despite her self-deprecating humor about her kitchen mishaps, Spencer’s charm and warmth clearly shine through in her many accomplishments.
