Trump Promises to Release Report on Assassination Attempts Against Him

President Donald Trump has vowed to release a report containing details about the assassination attempts made against him during his presidential campaign. Speaking in the Oval Office on Thursday, Trump addressed concerns about the lack of information regarding the attacks.

Discussing the attempt on his life in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2024, a reporter asked, “It’s been seven months. Why do you think we don’t know more about the guy who shot you in the ear?” Trump responded by referencing a second alleged assassination attempt against him at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach on September 15, 2024.

“Well, and the second one with all of the cell phones,” the president said, referring to suspect Ryan Wesley Routh, who was reportedly found with six phones in his vehicle at the time of his arrest. “I want to find the answers,” Trump continued. “I told them — in fact, today, I said, ‘I want to find them.’ We can no longer blame Biden for that one. He should have released that a long time ago.”

Trump then revealed that he expects to receive a report on the incidents next week and intends to make it public. “They are giving me a report next week sometime, and I do believe I’ll be releasing it. I want to release the report,” he stated, to Irish Star.

He also shared new details about the Butler shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, and what was allegedly found on his phone. “You had one who had three apps, two of which were foreign… What’s that all about?” he questioned. “The other one had seven or six cell phones, and I don’t have six cell phones. And why would somebody have six cell phones?”

The president reiterated his commitment to making the findings available to the public. “We’re going to be releasing a report on that soon,” Trump said, before entertaining the idea that the two incidents could be connected.

When asked if he believed the lack of information indicated a broader conspiracy, Trump responded, “They could be! Well, it makes other people think that. It makes me think about it a little bit too. I say, when you have three apps and two of them are foreign, and you had an FBI that wouldn’t report on it — they didn’t want to say why — I would say that could be suspicious.”

Trump took a moment to praise the Secret Service for their role in protecting him during both incidents, noting their swift action in neutralizing Crooks and assisting with Routh’s arrest.

“I want to find out, and I would be willing to release it,” he concluded before tempering expectations. “I mean, maybe there’s a reason that we shouldn’t — I don’t want to get too far ahead of my skis, but I would be very willing to release that. I’d like to see it. I want to see it. Not only you — I want to see it myself.”
