Trump Issues Ultimatum to Hamas: ‘Release Hostages Now or Face Total Destruction

WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Donald Trump has delivered a forceful ultimatum to Hamas, demanding the immediate release of all remaining hostages in Gaza. During a White House meeting with eight former hostages, Trump took to his Truth Social platform to issue a stern warning. “‘Shalom Hamas’ means Hello and Goodbye – You can choose.

Release all of the Hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you.” He further escalated his message, stating, “Only sick and twisted people keep bodies, and you are sick and twisted! I am sending Israel everything it needs to finish the job, not a single Hamas member will be safe if you don’t do as I say. I have just met with your former Hostages whose lives you have destroyed. This is your last warning!”

Before adding a chilling final note, “For the leadership, now is the time to leave Gaza, while you still have a chance. Also, to the People of Gaza: A beautiful Future awaits, but not if you hold Hostages. If you do, you are DEAD! Make a SMART decision. RELEASE THE HOSTAGES NOW, OR THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY LATER!”

The White House has confirmed Trump’s willingness to engage in unprecedented direct talks with Hamas, signaling a significant shift from longstanding U.S. policy, which has traditionally avoided direct negotiations with the militant group, reports The Mirror.

This marks the first known attempt at direct dialogue since Hamas was designated a foreign terrorist organization by the State Department in 1997. Trump’s approach follows his stark warning that “all hell” will break loose if hostages are not returned.

Despite the fragile state of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire, Trump has authorized his representatives to “talk to anyone” to impede Hamas’s actions. It is believed that at least 24 living hostages remain in Gaza, including American citizen Edan Alexander, alongside the remains of at least 35 others.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office stated, “Israel has expressed to the United States its position regarding direct talks with Hamas.” Leading these negotiations is Adam Boehler, Trump’s chosen special envoy for hostage affairs. Boehler, founder and CEO of healthcare investment firm Rubicon Founders, previously played a key role in the Abraham Accords, an initiative during Trump’s first term that aimed to expand Israel’s diplomatic recognition across the Arab world.

Last month’s discussions primarily focused on securing the release of American captives and exploring a ceasefire agreement that could see Hamas relinquishing control over Gaza, according to a Hamas official who spoke on condition of anonymity. While no major breakthrough was reported, the official noted that “the step itself is promising” and expects further negotiations.

Both Egyptian and Qatari intermediaries have played a role in facilitating these discussions. Meanwhile, the ongoing Gaza conflict has claimed over 50,000 lives as of March 4, 2025, with most casualties being Palestinian civilians. Official figures from the Gaza Health Ministry report 48,405 Palestinian deaths, alongside 1,706 Israelis.

Additionally, the conflict has resulted in the deaths of 166 journalists and media workers, 120 academics, and over 224 humanitarian aid workers, including 179 affiliated with the UNRWA.
