VP JD Vance Caught on Hot Mic: ‘A Full Reckoning’ Ahead of Trump’s Congressional Address

Vice President JD Vance was allegedly caught making a chilling remark just moments before former President Donald Trump’s address to Congress, according to a lip-reading expert. Once a vocal critic of Trump, Vance has since transformed into one of his staunchest allies.

During the 2016 presidential race, Vance expressed strong disapproval of Trump, likening him to Nixon and even Hitler. However, his stance has dramatically shifted, and he now fully supports the billionaire politician. Before Trump’s highly contentious speech, Vance was seen conversing with House Speaker Mike Johnson, during which he reportedly hinted at “a full reckoning” for Trump’s adversaries.

Lip-reading specialist Jeremy Freeman claims that Vance quietly stated, “Yes it is, a full reckoning, and long overdue.” In a separate comment, Vance also reportedly told Johnson, “By the way, I think the speech is going to be great. But I don’t know how you do this for 90 minutes.”

Johnson, appearing to want their exchange to remain discreet, lowered his microphone before responding, “The hardest thing was doing it during Biden when his speech was a stupid campaign speech.” The context behind Vance’s ominous remark remains unclear, but it comes on the heels of his tense exchange with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a recent Oval Office meeting.

The vice president has also drawn criticism this week for dismissively referring to Britain as a “random country.” Vance, who was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2022 before rising to the vice presidency, has fervently defended Trump against detractors, particularly following the failed assassination attempt in Pennsylvania last July.

Shortly after the attack, he took to Twitter to blame anti-Trump rhetoric for the incident. “The central premise of the Biden campaign is that President Donald Trump is an authoritarian fascist who must be stopped at all costs,” Vance posted. “That rhetoric led directly to President Trump’s attempted assassination.”

Trump’s address to Congress was marked by fierce attacks on his predecessor, Joe Biden, whom he called “the worst president in American history.” His supporters responded with enthusiastic applause, while Democrats in attendance remained silent, some even holding placards accusing Trump of favoring billionaire allies with tax cuts at the expense of working-class families.

Oregon Senator Jeff Merkley voiced his frustration after the speech, stating, “We cannot have business as usual while Trump and his unelected billionaire co-president Elon Musk are gutting many parts of the government that help working families thrive.”

Merkley further criticized Trump’s address, adding, “The President tonight had the chance to change course, but instead, he came before the American people and doubled down on reckless plans to dismantle key federal agencies, disregard our laws, and dishonor our Constitution.”
