Elderly Aiken Man Surrenders on Hit-and-Run Charge in Dirt Bike Crash That Killed 14-Year-Old Girl

An elderly Aiken County man turned himself in Monday on charges of hit-and-run in connection with a tragic dirt bike accident that claimed the life of a 14-year-old girl last week. Terry Sizemore, 75, of Gloverville, is being held in jail on a $25,000 bond following his arrest on the traffic-related charge.

He is accused of fleeing the scene of Friday’s accident that killed 14-year-old Faith Williams of Warrenville. Sizemore, a resident of Johnson Street, lives about two miles from where the accident occurred on Augusta Road.

According to the Aiken County Coroner’s Office, the accident took place around 7:47 p.m. on Friday. Williams was riding a Honda 80R dirt bike northbound on a sidewalk when she collided with a mailbox. The impact caused her to be thrown onto the roadway, told WRDW-TV.

At that moment, an unidentified vehicle traveling south on Augusta Road struck an object—believed to be the fallen dirt bike—causing damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle before fleeing the scene.

Emergency responders arrived at the location, but Williams was pronounced dead at 8:15 p.m. Friday. In the wake of the tragic accident, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support Williams’ family. As of Monday evening, the fundraiser had collected $8,385 of its $10,000 goal.
