Meghan Markle Called Out for ‘Inability to Maintain Boundaries’ by Royal Biographer
Meghan Markle is facing criticism for what some are calling her inability to maintain boundaries, especially regarding her relationship with the royal family. Royal biographer Andrew Lownie expressed these concerns during a recent interview, where he shared his views on the Sussexes’ actions and offered advice for the couple.
Lownie, known for his critical analysis of the royals, suggested that Meghan and Harry should have a better understanding of where the boundaries lie. “If they were sensible, they would know where the boundaries lie,” he stated. He went on to explain that many members of the royal family have successfully kept their personal and public lives separate, avoiding scandals.
He told the Sun, Lownie emphasized that the Sussexes have been dubbed the “rogue royals,” a label that also applied to Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson due to their controversial actions. This branding, according to Lownie, has contributed to the couple’s reputation for crossing lines that other royals have managed to respect.
Lownie further explained the core issue at hand: “One of the tropes of the Crown somewhere is the division between the public service and private pleasure — and here, I’m afraid, people are putting private pleasure and profit ahead of their public service.” He suggested that Meghan and Harry’s actions have blurred the line between their royal duties and personal gain, which, in his view, has caused a negative public perception.
These comments are the latest in a string of critiques aimed at the Sussexes for their decision to step away from royal duties and capitalize on their connection to the royal family. Lownie’s remarks highlight the ongoing tension between the couple’s desire for privacy and their public involvement in media ventures.
