Royal expert and Majesty magazine editor Ingrid Seward has weighed in on Prince William’s recent meeting with Donald Trump, suggesting the encounter may have carried a subtle jab at Prince Harry. Speaking to GB News, Seward speculated that William might have derived some “satisfaction” from meeting Trump, whom she described as his younger brother’s “arch-enemy.”

Trump has previously made public comments critical of Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, positioning himself as “not a big fan.” The meeting took place in Paris during the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral and marked the first significant interaction between Prince William and Trump since their previous meeting in the UK in 2019. Trump himself called the conversation with the Prince “very interesting.”

Seward described the encounter as more substantial than anticipated. “I thought they would just be shaking hands in Notre Dame, but it was a proper meeting,” she said. While Seward emphasized the diplomatic nature of the meeting, she speculated on the undertone, hinting that William may have enjoyed engaging with Trump, given the former president’s known disapproval of Meghan Markle.

“There is a chance Prince William got a kick out of it. It’s quite possible that he found some satisfaction in speaking with Trump, who has been very vocal about not being a fan of Harry’s wife.” The comments come amid renewed scrutiny of Prince Harry’s U.S. visa.

The Heritage Foundation has been pressing for details on Harry’s immigration status, particularly because he openly admitted to using illicit substances in his memoir Spare. Such admissions can typically disqualify individuals from receiving a U.S. visa, adding further tension to the public narrative surrounding the Sussexes.

Seward also highlighted Trump’s affection for the Royal Family, particularly as part of fostering diplomatic ties. “I think the whole Royal Family are very vital in the special relationship the government has with the Trump administration because he loves them,” she noted.

While the meeting between Prince William and Trump appeared formal and cordial, Seward’s comments have added an intriguing layer of speculation, particularly given the ongoing dynamics between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and the broader royal family. Whether intended or not, the encounter has sparked conversations about both diplomacy and personal rivalries within the monarchy.
