Schoolgirl Mauled to Death by Pigs While Home Alone
A tragic incident in Russia’s Krasnoyarsk region claimed the life of 17-year-old Milena Shevelyova, who was fatally mauled by pigs while caring for the family’s smallholding alone. Milena had gone to the pigsty to feed the animals while her parents were away in the city. Reports indicate she was attacked by a large, aggressive sow, which knocked her over and caused her to lose consciousness.
Following the initial assault, the other pigs in the sty joined in, inflicting fatal injuries. “All the other pigs attacked her,” reported the Bad News Telegram channel. “The animals tore her femoral artery and bit her. Milena died from blood loss.”
The young girl sustained multiple wounds to her head and body from the pigs’ bites. Her parents, unable to reach her by phone, asked a friend to check on her. Tragically, the friend discovered Milena’s lifeless body in the sty. “The parents told the police that the pig had always been angry and aggressive,” the report added. A paramedic team confirmed her death at the scene.
Authorities immediately launched an investigation. The prosecutor of Krasnoyarsk’s Uzhursky District visited the site of the incident, and the victim’s body has been sent for forensic examination to confirm the exact cause of death. “The conditions that contributed to the tragedy are being established,” stated the prosecutor’s office.
“If there are grounds, all necessary prosecutorial measures will be taken.” A criminal case into death by negligence has been opened. Milena’s boyfriend, 18-year-old Vladimir Bedny, mourned her loss on social media, writing, “You will forever remain in my heart. Forgive me for everything, my most beloved girl.”
The tragedy has sent shockwaves through the local community, sparking questions about the safety measures in place for handling aggressive livestock. As the investigation unfolds, authorities are expected to scrutinize the circumstances surrounding Milena’s death to prevent similar incidents in the future.
