Sir Elton John Reveals His ‘Dream Meal’ Amid Ongoing Health Scare
Amid ongoing health challenges, Sir Elton John recently shared what his dream final meal would be—one filled with all the sugary treats he currently avoids. The 77-year-old music legend, who has been managing type 2 diabetes, opened up about his cravings for sweets in a recent appearance on the Ruthie’s Table 4 podcast.
While Elton has maintained strict control over his blood sugar, he admitted his last meal would be packed with his favorite indulgences. “I can have an apple, I can eat a bit of melon. As long as you’re sensible about it, it doesn’t shoot your blood sugar up,” he explained. “But what I crave is chocolate and ice cream—I can’t have any ice cream.”
Reflecting on his ideal “death row meal,” he continued, “If I had a death row meal, it wouldn’t contain anything except sweets, because I can’t eat them now. So, I’d have ice cream, doughnuts, apple pie, rhubarb crumble.” These treats represent his unfulfilled cravings, as he’s had to forgo many of his favorite desserts for health reasons.
In addition to diabetes, Elton has faced various health issues over the years. He previously underwent surgery for prostate cancer and recently revealed he’s dealing with a severe eye infection, which has limited his vision in one eye. Despite these challenges, the Hakuna Matata artist continues to perform and share his love for music.
Elton’s candid reflections offer fans a glimpse into his ongoing health journey and his lighter side, indulging in thoughts of forbidden treats while managing a complex health regimen. His wish for a sugar-filled final meal reminds us of the simple pleasures he cherishes, even as he maintains a disciplined lifestyle to stay healthy.
