Melania Trump Declines Jill Biden’s Invitation to the White House, Citing FBI Raid as Source of Resentment
Former First Lady Melania Trump has reportedly declined an invitation from Jill Biden to visit the White House, allegedly due to lingering resentment over the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago in 2022, which Melania believes violated her privacy. The raid, authorized by President Joe Biden, involved a search of her personal belongings, including her clothing and private drawers.
According to a source close to Melania, she has no plans to attend the customary tea with Jill Biden that typically helps smooth the post-election transition. “She ain’t going. Jill Biden’s husband authorized the FBI snooping through her underwear drawer. The Bidens are disgusting. Jill Biden isn’t someone Melania needs to meet,” the source stated bluntly.
This decision marks a significant break from First Lady tradition, where outgoing and incoming First Ladies meet to share insights and ease the transition. Melania’s resentment reportedly stems from the FBI’s August 2022 search at Mar-a-Lago, which Melania has described as an “invasion of privacy.” Recalling her frustration, Melania said, “Yeah, it made me angry.
As per The New York Post, Yes. Invasion of privacy. And, the way it was done, I was really surprised. I saw unpleasant stuff that nobody wanted to see. And you get angry because, you know, nobody should be putting up with that kind of stuff.” During the Mar-a-Lago raid, over 30 FBI agents spent more than nine hours combing through Donald Trump’s office, Melania’s personal quarters, and even their son Barron’s room.
The search aimed to locate classified documents allegedly stored in 15 boxes, some of which were in agreed-upon storage spaces. However, the FBI reportedly extended its search beyond these areas, leading to accusations of government overreach and furthering Melania’s distrust of the Bidens.
Beyond her refusal to attend the traditional tea, increased security measures have been implemented at Mar-a-Lago. The Secret Service has deployed robotic dogs as an added layer of protection for President-elect Donald Trump amid rising security concerns. A spokesperson for the Trump team stated, “Safeguarding the President-elect is a top priority.
While we cannot get into the specific capabilities, the robotic dogs are equipped with surveillance technology and an array of advanced sensors that support our protective operations.” These robotic dogs, costing between $75,000 and $100,000 each, are outfitted to detect potential chemical and explosive threats.
Jill Biden’s invitation, issued last week, aimed to carry on the tradition of welcoming the outgoing First Lady to the White House’s Yellow Oval Room, a gesture former First Lady Michelle Obama extended to Melania in 2016. Though Donald Trump accepted an invitation to meet with Joe Biden in the Oval Office, Melania’s refusal to join the traditional tea emphasizes the ongoing tensions between the Trump and Biden families, highlighting a clear departure from past First Lady protocols.
