Billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban recently shared his reasons for supporting Vice President Kamala Harris, emphasizing her potential for fostering a better American economy. At a town hall event in Arizona on October 19, Cuban addressed Black and Latino business owners, discussing why he believes Harris is a better choice than Donald Trump when it comes to future economic policies.

According to AZCentral, Cuba took a strong stance against former President Trump, criticizing his ability to stabilize the economy. Cuban highlighted that Trump, having been born into wealth, lacks an understanding of financial struggle. “He doesn’t even know what the power of broke means. He asked Daddy for money,” Cuban said, underscoring Trump’s privileged background. In a light-hearted moment, Cuban even mentioned that Trump’s son, Barron, is a fan of the reality show Shark Tank but quickly returned to more serious critiques of the Republican nominee’s economic approach.

Cuban praised Harris for her rise in politics, asserting that small business owners would fare better under her presidency than under Trump. “I’m an independent,” Cuban clarified, distancing himself from both major political parties. “I’m here to tell you how you can make more money under Kamala Harris than you would under Donald Trump.”

In Arizona, key issues like the economy and inflation are major factors influencing voters. While Cuban expressed confidence in Harris’ ability to manage these issues, he also addressed concerns over some policies from the Biden-Harris administration. When asked about his views on the unrealized capital gains tax, Cuban acknowledged his strong opposition to the idea.

“I went ballistic when it was introduced,” he admitted. However, he reassured attendees that there is no active plan for such a tax. “There is not going to be an unrealized gains tax on capital gains,” he said, adding humor to the conversation by joking that if he were wrong, “she’s going to hate to hear that, I’ll work so she doesn’t get elected again.” The remark elicited laughter from the crowd.

On the same day, Trump addressed the issue during a campaign event in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, using it as a point of attack against the Biden-Harris administration. “Do you know what an unrealized capital gain is? I’ll tell you what it is. It’s communism is what,” Trump stated, accusing Harris of refusing to clarify her stance on the matter.

While the Harris-Walz campaign has not yet commented on the future implications of the unrealized gains tax, the topic has become a focal point in the ongoing debate about economic policy. Cuban’s support for Harris, despite identifying as an independent, highlights a belief that her administration would better serve small business owners and the overall economy compared to Trump’s leadership. As both campaigns continue to navigate critical issues like taxes and economic growth, voters are left to weigh their options based on competing visions for the future of American prosperity.
