Michael Moore, the outspoken documentary filmmaker who famously predicted Donald Trump’s victory in 2016 and accurately forecasted the modest Republican gains in 2022, has shared his latest prediction on CNN: Vice President Kamala Harris doesn’t need to abandon her liberal stance to win the 2024 election. Instead, Moore argued, the driving force behind her potential success will be the same coalition of women who turned out in droves in 2022 — and they’re more energized than ever.

Moore pointed to the ongoing outrage over the erosion of abortion rights as a powerful motivator. “The same army of women who stormed the polls in 2022 will dictate 2024,” he predicted, emphasizing that recent grim headlines have only fueled their determination.

During the segment, CNN anchor Brianna Keilar challenged Moore by highlighting a common argument within Democratic circles: “There is thinking that you’re aware of from, I think, Democrats in the political class, who say, ‘Yeah, but Harris needs people in the middle and liberals are going to vote for her regardless, why would they stay home? It’s as good as a vote for Trump.'”

Moore was quick to counter this logic. “I honestly think we’re going to have one of our largest turnouts ever,” he said confidently. “I don’t think that many people are going to stay home. I certainly hope not because of everything that’s at stake.”

He criticized Democrats for what he perceived as unnecessary fear and hesitation. “Democrats are such a frightened group of people. I mean… they still think that Trump is going to win. This is kind of shocking to me. Like, don’t you live with people? Are you not aware that there’s going to be a tsunami of women voting between now and Election Day?”

Moore passionately outlined the stakes, emphasizing how abortion restrictions have stripped women of their autonomy. “They were told 2 1/2 years ago that they no longer control their own bodies. They no longer have a say. If they get pregnant, an unplanned pregnancy, the law now is that in many of our states, you have to have that baby,” he said. “If we have to do whatever we have to do, sort of a legal version of strapping you down to the table until you birth that baby. That’s Soviet. That’s the law of the land now.”

Addressing skeptics who believe women will simply accept these restrictions, Moore pushed back. “For anyone who believes women will just ‘tolerate’ being treated that way… Do you not know any women? Do you not live with a woman? Is there a next-door neighbor? Is there somebody you could just go ask them, ‘So what do you think about my gender here? Nobody can tell me what to do with my body.'”

Moore’s powerful message underscores his belief that the energy of women voters, fueled by their anger over the loss of reproductive rights, will play a decisive role in the 2024 election. He remains confident that this “tsunami” will not only turn out but could be the key to securing a victory for Kamala Harris.
