Following two recent assassination attempts on former President Donald Trump, concerns have emerged about the safety of his 18-year-old son, Barron Trump. Insiders have revealed that Barron, a freshman at New York University’s Stern School of Business, may now be a potential target for those seeking to harm the former president.
The failed attempts on Trump’s life occurred on July 13 and September 15, 2024, raising alarms within the Trump family and their security team. Sources close to the family told Radar Online that Barron, despite being a private individual, could be in danger. “After the two assassination attempts on his dad, there are legitimate fears Barron is a sitting duck for a psycho who wants to make a name for themselves,” said an insider.
To ensure his safety, Barron’s security detail has been significantly ramped up. “His private security has been increased massively, and his every move is being watched,” another source confirmed. Standing at 6 feet 9 inches, Barron’s height and public profile make him easily recognizable.

Though he began his college classes at NYU this fall, Barron reportedly commutes from Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan rather than living on campus. His journey from home to the Greenwich Village campus is heavily guarded by Secret Service agents, a necessity after the threats against his father.
Despite the increased security, classmates at NYU say Barron’s security team tries to maintain a low profile. “The Secret Service agents give him a little bit of space and breathing room,” one student, Rohan, told The Sun. Another student, Aaruush, added, “Obviously, he’s very well known.
Not just because of his status but also physically—he’s clearly really tall.” Aaruush also noted that Barron doesn’t seem to leverage his family’s fame or status to influence others, describing him as trying to lead a normal student life.
Sloan, a fellow student, admitted she hadn’t noticed Barron’s presence on campus until she learned he was enrolled. “I hadn’t heard until I found out he was here. I wasn’t following the announcement made prior about a New York school,” she told reporters.
Barron’s choice to attend NYU remained private until recently, with his father only hinting at the decision in interviews. “He’s a very smart guy, and he’s going to Stern, the business school, which is a great school at NYU,” Trump said in an interview with Daily Mail. He expressed pride in Barron’s accomplishments, noting that his son had outgrown his childhood years and was now stepping into adulthood.
