Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign took to social media on Thursday, rapidly sharing video clips from former President Donald Trump’s press conference at Mar-a-Lago. The barrage of posts on the campaign’s Twitter account, Kamala HQ, highlighted various moments from Trump’s appearance, often letting his words speak for themselves.

Within a span of just 40 minutes, the account posted 10 video clips of Trump, some without any added commentary, simply quoting the former president. One such tweet featured Trump saying, “Kim Jong Un liked me a lot. He doesn’t like this group,” capturing a moment that drew significant attention online.

The initial tweet described Trump as “feeble,” setting the tone for the campaign’s response. Another post focused on Trump’s decision to criticize a fellow Republican, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, a key figure in a crucial swing state. “Trump spends his press conference attacking the Republican Governor of Georgia,” the tweet read, emphasizing the unusual nature of Trump’s attack on a member of his own party.

In another pointed tweet, the Harris campaign summarized one of Trump’s more contentious claims: “Trump claims his crowds are larger than Martin Luther King Jr.’s.” This comment, in particular, sparked widespread discussion and criticism across social media.

The Harris campaign also highlighted several direct quotes from Trump that underscored the tone and content of his press conference. Among these were:

The tweets quickly garnered substantial attention, with most racking up tens of thousands of views within minutes. One clip of Trump discussing his speech on January 6, 2021, was viewed nearly 190,000 times in under 25 minutes. Another, featuring Trump’s response to a journalist’s question about his lack of campaign events, surpassed 280,000 views within 30 minutes of being posted.

The Harris campaign’s strategy of flooding the internet with Trump’s own words highlights their approach of letting the former president’s statements stand on their own, allowing the public to draw its own conclusions as the 2024 election season intensifies.
