Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., is seen in a viral video arriving at a crowd that is mainly Somali during the Fourth of July weekend to a chorus of jeers and whistles.

At the Somali singer Soldaan Seraar’s concert on Saturday night at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Omar, 39, made a cameo, but not everyone was pleased to see her, as per Fox News.

Omar posted a 14-second video of herself and her husband Tim Mynett leaving the stage, but longer recordings that went viral on social media show others screaming “get out!” and telling the Democrat to “get the f—- out of here.”

Videos do not reveal what caused such a strong reaction, but Newsweek said that some have linked it to Omar’s support for LGBTQ rights and abortion for the backlash.

Following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade on June 24, Omar was one of the lawmakers to show up for pro-choice rallies in Washington, D.C.

“In almost half of this country, states are ready to ban abortion,” Omar said at a protest at Union Station. “Outright ban abortion. That means if you are sick, if you are raped, there is incest, you are forced to have that baby or die,”

Omar has also continued to be a strong advocate for more aggressive legislative measures to defend the right to an abortion, such as ending the filibuster so that Congress can try to enshrine the right to an abortion in federal law or expanding the size of the Supreme Court to add more liberal justices.
